Vegas Baby!!

What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas… Unless you’re traveling with your mother and brother
than there is no need.

Evan, my more fabulous younger brother and I went to join mom in Vegas for a free night at the Bellagio. Mom was performing at a birthday party for some very wealthy Texans and what better place to have a little family bonding than Vegas.

Evan and I flew first class (very fabulous for a one hour flight) and were delivered by Escalade to the sprawling, gorgeous Bellagio Casino. We went to the suite that had the most ridiculously amazing view over the strip (Very different from the view from the $99.00 room at Paris I stayed in last time I was there).

While mom rested up for her show and watched all the movies on the hotel TV (she loves movies!!), Evan and I busied ourselves with food and roaming the casino. I kept him away from the super, expensive high-end stores (That boy LOVES to shop!!)

Turned out the Texans had flown in numerous performers to sing at the party and mom wouldn’t go on till 11:30pm, so we got the idea to cruise by the Christina Aguilera concert for a bit and catch as much of the show as possible before it was time to head back to catch mom (We are her biggest fans, you know!) Josie, mom’s assistant busied herself trying to get us tickets and off we went.

Upon arrival, we were disheartened (Evan totally embarrassed) by our terrible seats behind the stage without any view (but I guess what can you expect when you call to get tickets like 30 minutes before a sold out show).

Danity Kane opened the show (Loose the booty shorts, girls! They have definitely gained a few since their Making the Band days) and Evan and I slid to the end of our row since the house was not yet full, where we could at least see the girls in profile. The Pussy Cat Dolls came on next (They blew Danity Kane out of the water, though I think they were lip-synching a couple songs) and Evan and I snuck on to the floor to get a better view, but were quickly shuffled out of the way and into a side stage area filled with very cheesy fans who had won a contest to have an ass view of the performers (not bad if you want to check for cellulite, but not good on the ears as a speaker totally blew out my ear drums ;)

Evan was mortified by our new location and wanted to leave. He is way too fabulous to hang with the contest winners. I on the other hand just wanted to watch a little of Christina and I’m so not worried about what other people think about where I stand. (I know I’m fabulous!!)

Christina came on with a BANG! Dressed in white and flanked by a bunch of hot dancers. She is am amazing performer. Sadly we could only stay for a couple songs before rushing out the back to our waiting car and heading back to the Bellagio just in time to catch mom transform from sweatpants clad mommy to super sequined diva Diana. She sang from her new album while we sang along, words flowing from our mouths with no effort (Her songs are so much a part of who we are).

As her set came to an end, the crowd howled and basked in her glow as she rushed off to bed (I tried to persuade her to play Black Jack with me! She always wins BIG!) I met up with Tasha and Jason (friends in town from LA) for a drink and some slot machines then headed to bed myself to get some rest for my trip home in the morning.

I hope the Texans had a fun time in Vegas… we sure did!

That sounds like fun. I'm never lucky in black jack. Poker and craps, now that's another story. I know this is gonna sound like a really stupid question, but when you have a room at a really swanky hotel like the one you guys stayed in Vegas, are the Escalades provide by the hotel as part of the perks? I've always wondered about that. I know whenever I stay at the motel 6, a canary yellow 1973 pinto station wagon (with the wood paneling on the sides) is included in the room rate, availabele for my cruising pleasure! LOL, Okay, now I'm getting silly.
