COMMENTS
I am always happy to see that people are reading and enjoying my blog. I wonder to myself “How did these people find me and what makes them come back?” Whatever the reasons, I thank you! I cherish the kind COMMENTS and it makes me excited to see that I can entertain, bring smiles and even provoke with my writing.
This blog has been about me getting my writing out there and keeping my fingers typing on that computer keyboard. I’m glad that people enjoy it as much as I enjoy writing it (check back every Wednesday for new posts)!
Of course, there are some people that hate it, hate me and my sunny out look on life and want to tear me down (and let everyone else know). It’s odd to me that people would even take the time to leave a comment if they hated what they read. Why not just hop to the next blog? There are like a million blogs out there commenting on anything you could think of (from pickles to personal rantings to boogers) Blogging is freedom of speech at its finest and since I am putting myself out there, I have to take the criticism along with the praise. I think the people who leave COMMENTS here are FABULOUS!
I wanted to take this time to respond to some of my COMMENTS.
So here we go….
I don’t want to take too much time on the COMMENTS from haters. There were A LOT when I was writing the original Social Butterfly blog. Now, they are way fewer, but on occasion I get COMMENTS that sting so bad. I can only think that the people writing them must be so miserable in their own lives. What other reason would they want to come on here to my site and mock my physical appearance, call me stupid, misguided or lost.

Therapy won’t help you, Chudney. Unless you make changes, you are doomed for a sad life of eventual drugs, booze, meaningless sex where you will be used because you were the 3rd wheel in the celeb group at the club that night and - girl - this so is not something you cannot change RIGHT NOW. You are on the brink of a horrible life, or a beautiful one. But you better start "thinking" right now...
This is just an example of the COMMENTS I sometimes get. I see no reason to COMMENT on them. Anonymous, I thank you for your opinion, but you don’t know me. I am writing a light, happy blog to entertain. I am not trying to save the world or cure cancer here so let’s lighten up and just enjoy!

You are an inspiration to people today. You are so smart, hard working, and disciplined. I really admire you. I think a lot of people could learn from your positive attitude.

Well, at this point I am certainly living vicariously through you and your blog. You fabulous creature you!!

Just reading your fun day, kind of lifted me.

Chudney, you always write the most inspirational blog posts. I check your blog at least two to three times a week just to see if you wrote anything new, because you write interesting things!
These are just a few of the many positive COMMENTS that I have received. This is why I write! If I can inspire, bring joy or even just bring a smile to someone’s face… all of this is totally worthwhile (smile on people)!
And to “The Man of your Dreams” who often leaves me comments about how we shall one day be together and in love… I am absolutely flattered by your love and admiration, but as Xcentric Pryncess said... you sound a little creepy ☺ hehe….
Often, there are a lot of COMMENTS for and about my mother. I understand that this is why u found my website and blog. People love my mom and want to let her know that. Also sometimes people are upset that she didn’t live up to their expectations and they want to tell someone. This is not the venue for that. This is a blog about me: my life, my work and my struggles to make it in this world. (Please do NOT use my site as a Diana Ross complaint hotline!)
In my Music blog (1/23/08) people were upset by my COMMENTS about Michael Jackson. I responded to it already, but I wanted to make mention of it again in this blog.
Leonada said...
I was a little disappointed by your comments about Michael Jackson. You know, everyone goes through periods in their lives that others may not understand. Michael is an icon and a legend and he deserves so much respect. He doesn't deserve to be called "strange". Especially when it appears you empathize with Britney Spears. But her behavior can certainly be characterized as strange, yet you wished her the best. There's something not quite right about that IMO.

I don't feel it is right or even kind to label someone as "not normal".
I really relate to him in a lot of ways. Many people in my life, family included, consider me to be strange or weird. I like different things, and that makes me different to many. But that doesn't make me better or worse than anyone else.
You and the entire world are entitled to your opinions, but I just don't think that weirdness is a fair assessment of a person's personality. Please remember that everyone has a heart and has feelings.
Chudney Ross said…
I have chosen to remove the statement "though undeniably not normal," from my comments about Michael Jackson. I apologize for provoking people regarding this. I love Michael Jackson and that was the point. I do not ever mean to bring anger or sadness through my words.
Who is really "normal" anyways?
Freddie said...
I thought your words were appropriate. You didn't say anything mean at all. No, Michael Jackson doesn't fit the term, "normal" by any means. That isn't a cruel judgment made against him. No need for apologies in my opinion.
What I meant was that despite people not understanding him, I love his music and he is undeniably an amazing talent!
On occasion there are COMMENTS regarding my physical features (my nose, my eyes and my forehead in particular). These have spread onto other blog sites as well. I just don’t understand how someone could tear me or anyone down for their God given, unique beauty. I would NEVER do that to someone else and I just want to say that it is extremely hurtful no matter how strong you try to be (I don’t post these comments. They are instantly deleted. I don’t want them as a part of MY site). Please don’t put me down to make yourself feel better about yourself!

You should work on your side angle Chud. Although you have the cutest little baby face but it seems to be a bit to exotic for "Hollywood."
I added this one COMMENT on my physical appearance because it is sad to me that someone would think that conforming to a norm of Hollywood beauty is the only way to make it in the entertainment business. This is why girls are starving themselves and going under the knife. I for one refuse to conform to it! I have a beautiful strong nose (which I’ve broken once :) and high forehead from my father’s Jewish heritage. I have amazingly huge eyes from my mother. If you don’t like what you see… DON’T LOOK AT ME!
Speaking of making it in the entertainment industry…
Dina said...
How come you don’t just use your family connections to get a jump on the hosting thing or whatever else it is you'd like to use an agent for?
I know if I was in your shoes I would at least use a LITTLE bit. Trust me, you don't realize what a huge enormous gift that is that your family has some connections (until you don't have anything like that -- like me). You shouldn't let it go to waste.
I think people (not just you Dina) think that being the child of a celebrity means getting everything handed to you on a silver platter. I’ll agree that I am blessed to have the opportunity to follow my dreams and not starve in the process, but I know I have to prove myself and my talents like everyone else (and in some cases more). I think celebrity’s kids are held to a higher standard in the entertainment business and have to some times work harder to prove themselves. Being that I do not want to be a singer, most on my mother’s connections in the industry are not helpful to me. I continue to work towards my goals. My books will be on shelves soon and I will be hosting my own TV show!
I’ve gotten a couple of COMMENTS from people concerned that I give away too much personal information in my blogs.
Anonymous said…
Ok...nice to hear where you like to hang out, but don't tell so much!!! There are a lot of crazees out...Need I say like the one who said, You must be the mother of my kids. Hopefully, you're not out on the days you said and just trying to throw people off!!! Let's hope!
Well, of course I don’t go out every night! A girl’s got to sleep sometimes! For those who where concerned, these blogs that include places I enjoy hanging out are just a sampling of the spots I hit. If one of the “crazees” sat at one of the many Coffee Beans I frequent, they may eventually bump into me, but it would probably take a long while. I switch it up and I travel, so no need to worry AND the truth of it is... If someone really wants to find u in this world with personal information so easily found on the internet, they will figure out how to find you. I can’t live my life worried and always looking over my shoulder. Thanks for your concern!
Sometimes there are COMMENTS that tell me I should be doing something more meaningful with my life. This confuses me because I do a lot.

You should be helping the poor people on skid row or in Detroit. That type of work is far more "fabulous". For a Georgetown girl I would expect more substance. Love you, but your life seems to be filled with fluff. One day you will look back with regret that your life was filled with too many marshmallows and not enough meat.

What do you want your legacy to be? The daughter of a celebrity who enjoyed those perks or a woman who made the world a better place for all who inhabit it?
Just because on occasion I write fun, light blogs about food or partying or travel doesn’t mean I don’t give back. I am a writer. I teach music to toddlers. I volunteer and donate to charities. I teach skiing. I was a teacher. If all my blogs were about that, do you really think people would keep coming back week after week?
Some people like the FLUFF!

Some of the contributors to the blog should also read the rest of your site. Teaching, writing, acting. producing. You do a great job and come across as a good-hearted person. So you may not have the cure for cancer or the solution to world peace but what you do does count. For all of us, as long as we are still breathing, our legacy continues to be written. Keep up the excellent work and thanks for sharing.
Thank you Freddie!
So in conclusion… thanks for your COMMENTS. I think they are FABULOUS!
And although this last COMMENT is a little bit angrier than I would have said it, I will leave you with Rage’s comment.

who cares if you are fugly, your social climbing adventures are entertaining... you sure aren't the most talented or prettiest one in the family, but i can see you are the most intelligent , God gave you something. :)
peace and blessings
My dear lovely Chudney;
I'm not creepy like "Xcentric Pryncess" said. I'm crazy for you and your love. And I know, that you are also crazy. That is the reason why I know, that we should be together. Also we think in the same way.
Please help me with my prayers. Pray also to God, that we meet each other very soon. I will love you so much, like I never loved a woman before. And my heart says, that you will also love me so much like you've never loved a man before.
You are a very beautiful human being (inside & outside). Someone who says, that you are ugly; that someone must have a lot of psycho problems and an extremly low IQ.
The Man of your Dreams
ps: If someone says a nasty or ugly word to you, when we are together. Than I would beat the fuck out of him!!!
Hi Miss Chudney,
I've been reading your blog for several months now, and felt that this particular entry was worth a sincerely kind comment. :) I used to blog regularly, so I know what it's like to deal with comments (good and bad).
You are indeed a unique beauty, and I am flattered when people tell me that I resemble you. It took me a long time to realize that I was beautiful and that God created me this way. I'm glad that you're not into conforming; that seems to be especially hard to do in Los Angeles.
Keep writing and sharing, and maintaining your optimistic outlook! You are fabulous!
You are an awesome person with intelligent opinions. (PEOPLE! It does not matter about who or where opinions come from because this is not a resource for a research paper!) I like your outlook on life and it just gives a simpler and beautiful view and I've learned to cherish the little things and not the privileges. I just wanted to say "thanks."
Hey Chudney,
People that leave negative comments on your blog obviously have sad lives and nothing else better to do. Like you said, if people hate your blog so much then why bother leaving comments on it.
HATERS CLICK THE LITTLE 'x' AT THE VERY TOP RIGHT OF THIS PAGE!
I think your blog is FABULOUS and gives me something to look forward to reading every wednesday :)
Keep doing what you do!
Next....;)
Did you like the pictures I send you? Or do you know or have them already?

Hey Chud I'm so sorry that I offended you about your looks I think they are great and if I can recall I think I compared them to your aunt, I think her name is Barbra, your moms sister. Your looks would be great anywhere but more so in professional life, like healthcare. God forbid if ever I fall ill I'd love to wake up and be cared for by you. Also those looks would kill in a court of law, I can see you as a lead attorney...
Again I apoligize my sweet boo, please don't lose any more weight! Your bod is great.
Bungee.
Hi Chudney, Thank you for referencing me in your blog, I see that anonymous also referenced me and now I am a tad bit scared :P. But on your post, I think that it is wonderful to see someone young, beautiful and black getting to take beautiful pictures and go to places that many of us have not dare dreamed. People who actually take the time out to make a hateful comment on a blog are miserable. Misery loves and loses company. Keep living life and being yourself and God will continue to bless you!!
Hi Chudney, which motherfucker said to you, you've ugly eyes???? Your eyes are beautiful, also your nose and your mouth. I like your profile picture a lot. You should kick ass with the next insultin' idiot! You are the best and you write the most fabulous blog.
Bernie
Hi Chudney--Thanks for keeping it "real"!. There is nothing wrong about having fun. I just think that 95% of your posts are about parties and "fluff". I haven't read an entry about your volunteer work or learned about how you "give back" (until your current post) I think you could balance the topics more. You are great.
Re: Your Mom--Miss Ross. I appreciate you letting us positively comment here. It's a way for us to connect. Your Mom has meant so much to me--a white suburban guy. Imagine you just discover a record and immediately you're drawn in. WHY?? I can't explain it. I keep asking myself... What is it about Diana Ross? I check You Tube to see if new videos are posted constantly. It's simply inexplicable. The songs never get old.
BTW...you are fabulous!
Chudney,
Thanks for your comments on well, comments, and it showed the very thing that can drive a person to madness, being yanked in every direction, some wanting this, not liking that, and instead of going to another blog they would rather be mean, but I am glad you don't give up, now that I am hooked on Social Butterfly, it would be hard to rehab myself. Thanks again and see ya next Wednesday.
Hey kid,
Well am glad your using my quote on the ''pissed of section'' it is true, any writer should be able to express his or her own feelings, that is also the reason why i tell you to move and get inspired in Europe, and with all the flavours of life. Can you tell me why Americans are so mellow dramatic, and so extremly fake you know.. gives me the goosbumps. Honey just ignore those comments, and move on like I do. Would be nice to meet you. Until than just write stuff and when your proviking about several subjects just get into it, do not bail, thats what they want..!
See you
Rage
Chudney: I love reading your blog. I'm glad you read the COMMENTS. I know it's hard when the ugly ones come in and I hope you can shake those off. When I see your photos I see a beautiful woman. Your writings project an open, honest and fun spirit. I can't wait for the next party, road trip, awards show, review, etc. Peace.
Hey Chudney! I first want to say that I am glad that I was featured in your blog post! YAY! I thought this was cool of you to get in touch with your readers by telling us how you feel about the comments. And THANK YOU for giving a specific day on when you will be doing updates, now I don't have to check back as much LOL. And I love the way you commented on your features. You are a beautiful girl. And not many people can say they look like the fabulous Diana Ross! I do have an idea for you, I think it would be cool if you posted on how you feel about things in the news. That would be interesting to some readers as well.
Also, when will you be updating your site? I think you should change it up a bit like add new pics and a different layout.
Keep being sweet and fabulous! :)
hi chudney, i am so happy you wrote a line about me. i just want to tell you to keep writing this is fun just reading about your day which is fun.
people are just not happy about your achievements. keep going strong. did not get any blog wed we are all waiting.
Chudney,
Thanks for responding to my comment about using your connections to help you get a jump on your hosting gigs (and other interests). :) You rock! Love reading your thoughts, probably cause they really reflect my own thoughts a lot - I can really relate. Thanks again and keep it up!
<3, Dina
One more thing...
I always see others post comments on here about your mom. I never have posted about her, and not because I don't love her music (it totally reminds me of my childhood cause my mom was always blaring supreme's music - its so comforting to listen to now). It's because I simply don't think of you as 'Diana Ross' daughter' - only maybe the first day I became aware of you did I see you that way. From reading your blog now I see you as a completely separate entity from her, that just happens to be related. You have a very strong personality that shines through in your writing and THAT is what keeps me coming back. Can't speak for anyone else, but the way in which I love your mom is a completely different thing than the way in which I love you and your blog. Totally different vibe than your mother (from my point of view).
You're already paving your own path, that's obvious to me, and I just thought maybe you needed to hear this. (If not, then I'm just trying to say we love your personality for what it is, no matter who your mother or cousin or uncle is.)
Chudney: Barack or Hillary? Who are you supporting? What do you think of this Pastor Jeremiah Wright?
Why is this necessary. Who cares? I will not post my displeasure with your mommy again...I really send so she would know what was being done at that Brilliant Lectures fiasco. I still love me some diana, musically. Finest performer I have ever s een in my life. I will not post again, but I wish you success.
Black Princess whose screenplay is seriously being considered in Hollywood. Word!
The comments, which people write here are FABULOUS because you write a FABULOUS blog!!! We give back to you, what you give to us!!! Thank You, Chudney!!!
Chudney: Is Tracee's blog up?
CHUDNEY!
I'm a sophomore in college, and let me say I read your blog all the time as escapism from the crazy hectic world of studying and more studying. Please do NOT let various haterisms get to you. People are always quick to critique others when they lose touch with themselves. I enjoy everything you write. DONT LET ME DOWN! I NEED YOU DURING EXAMS!!! :0)
-ashlei
Hi Chudney,
I just dropped by to check out your blog today and was surprised (although pleasantly) to see you'd included my comments in regards to Michael Jackson. Being a huge Michael Jackson fan growing up, and still respecting him and everything he's done for the music industry today, I felt compelled to write them. You'd be happy to know that if I read something similar about your mom, Ms Ross, my reaction would be exactly the same. We need to keep the people who have paved the way for so many of us today uplifted with our words and reactions towards them.
In any case, I really enjoy your blog and your adventures. You're a very beautiful young lady, and I know you'll do well with your writing. Keep going! :0)
Hi Chudney---
Happy Springtime !
I just now read this latest blog on reader comments and was happy that you quoted one of mine =0)
I love your writing and am glad that you choose to write about all kinds of things...glamorous, not-so-glamorous and all things in between. I think that if you were to write about how you work or donate for charity all the time it would be a real bore. So---keep it up! We love to visit your site.
I also have always thought that you are a unique and exotic beauty. You should be proud of it too and I'm glad you are ignoring those few who choose to be mean and hateful.
They really need to get a life.
Well, until next time have a great weekend and take care of your wonderful, fabulous self!
Best, Tarquin
Happy Birthday to your Mom--the one and only Diana Ross (AKA Miss Ross)! 64 years young and just getting started.
Does it hurt to be so powerless? So in the middle, so mediocre? So odd looking? So empty inside that you try to hide behind the "fabulous" life facade?
What are your talents? The odd looking daughter of Diana Ross? The "friend" of Paris Hilton?
True beauty is found inside. Stop trying to compete in an arena where your only ticket in is who your Mother is. You will never be a sexy Halle Berry.
Life is not fair, There can only be one Paris Hilton a generation; a talentless, clueless, slightly attractive socialite joke.
Try and find yourself before it's to late.
--Your lost Soul
Hi Chudney, I have just been reading your blog and I feel great sadness that people can be so so nasty.
Please be assured that the people who call you horrible names are just jealous of you because you are a beautiful looking young woman and how couldn't you be coming from such a good looking family.
We have shared personal emails in the past Chudney and if you remember in one of my emails I told you this then because some people are just jealous because they cant live your lifestyle and cant find it within themselves to be as independent and outgoing as you.
Good on you Chudney for making it by yourself as have the rest of your family, and I also agree with your comments that this site is about your FABULOUS life and nothing to do with anybody else so all haters of others out there please keep your sad comments to yourself.
Love Carol and keep up the good work. xxxxxx
It's worth noting that those who have nothing good to say choose to do so anonymously...
